Why India must open its doors for RCEP

Singapore: Earlier in November, 15 Asia-Pacific leaders and trade ministers stood victorious in the virtual zoom window, raising archives, reaffirming their commitment to a regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP). While India’s opposition to the RCEP had some advantages, apparently due to fears of rising China and self-sufficiency policies, exiting the deal will prevent India from being able to shape future trade negotiations that could merge around the agreement and the negotiating space.
