With earnings surprises and unprecedented support from global central banks, confidence in stock markets has returned. The index captures much of the optimism about the recovery and would suggest being more specific for equities, which illustrates the quality of earnings, the sustainability of growth forecasts and has a significant shortcoming. Some adjustment of world stock markets from US markets is inevitable.
