China To Launch Moon Mission To Bring Back First Lunar Rocks In 40 Years

China is preparing to launch an unmanned spacecraft to bring back the lunar rocks, the first attempt by any country to receive samples from the moon in four decades. Named after the Chinese mythical moon goddess, the Chang’e-5 probe aims to shovel lunar rocks and soil to help scientists discover the origin, formation and volcanic activity of the Moon in the region. If successfully launched, the probe should land on the Moon at the end of November and collect materials during the Moon Day, or about 14 Earth Days.
