Week after cyclone Nivar, Tamil Nadu braces for cyclone ‘Burevi’

The second cyclone, which is fermenting in the south-eastern part of the Gulf of Bengal, is heading to the south coast of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. On November 25, a violent cyclone struck Nivar near Karaikal, bringing heavy rains to Pondichery, Tamil Nadu and the Andhra Pradesh coast. “It is also intensifying into a cyclical storm and moving west-northwest and crossing the Sri Lankan coast around 2 December,” the IMD said in a special bulletin on Monday.
