Better policing for women, weaker sections of society my priority, says Bhopal’s first police commissioner

BHOPAL: Makrand Deoskar, the first police commissioner of Bhopal metropolitan area, says ensuring better policing for women and weaker sections of the society would be his priority. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday issued the notification for implementation of the commissionerate system under which IPS officers would get additional authority, including magisterial powers. Commissioners in both cities will be assisted by an additional commissioner of police (law and order) and additional commissioner of police (crime and headquarters). The DCPs would be SP-rank officers, commanding additional DCPs and ACPs for police stations.
