Govt to consider classifying real estate sector as different asset class: Puri

The central government is considering classifying the real estate sector as a different asset class, said Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri. To stimulate economic activity and demand, the minister called on real estate developers to sell unsold inventories and sell them. Regarding the classification of the real estate sector into a different asset class, Anuj Puri, President of ANAROCK Property Consultants, said: “This shows that housing remains high on the government agenda.
